    Patan, or Lalitpur is the craft city across the holy river of the Bagmati in Kathmandu valley. This area is also inhabited traditionally by Newars who are still the majority, and is famous for its art and culture

    A little out of town, this historic city has maintained its traditions totally, and a trip to the city can be amazing. You are transported into another world. Especially since the restoration project by the Germans, this place has become a must see for every visitor to Nepal.
